Safari FAQs

Straight answers on booking, costs, timing and travel logistics from our Nairobi-based team.

Booking & planning

We offer both fully customised private safaris and budget-friendly group joining safaris. Private tours include a dedicated 4×4 Land Cruiser and a native guide for your party alone, while group packages let solo travellers or couples share a safari vehicle while keeping luxury lodge accommodation. Browse our tours.

Send us your dates, group size and interests through the Plan Your Trip form. Our Nairobi team replies with a tailored itinerary and quote. A booking is confirmed only once we have received the required deposit or full payment and issued a written booking confirmation.

Our itineraries range from single-day trips and 2-day safaris to 8-day Kenya and Tanzania combinations. The right length depends on which parks you want to see and how much travel time you are comfortable with.

Costs & what is included

Our featured itineraries include park entry fees, private 4×4 pop-roof safari vehicle transfers, full-board lodge or luxury camp stays, professional licensed guide services, and 24/7 emergency roadside support throughout Kenya and Tanzania. If you are unsure about any item, ask us and we will confirm it before you book.

Prices depend on the season, accommodation level, group size and whether you choose a private or group joining departure. Request a quote for your dates.

Tipping is customary on safari. Our travel guides cover how much to tip, who to tip and when.

When & where to go

The best time to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Maasai Mara is between July and October. Because prime river-crossing lodges book out early, we recommend reserving your safari 4 to 8 months in advance.

Kenya offers wildlife viewing across the year, and the best month depends on what you want to see and how you feel about crowds and rain.

Yes. For bush-and-beach packages we coordinate transfers between the game reserves and coastal resort hotels in Diani, Watamu or Mombasa.

Both are exceptional. The Maasai Mara is in Kenya and easy to reach from Nairobi, while the Serengeti is in Tanzania. We can help you decide, or combine both.

Travel logistics

Most visitors need an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) for Kenya, applied for online before travel, and Tanzania has its own visa requirements. Rules depend on nationality and can change, so always confirm on the official government portals.

Our team handles door-to-door transfers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) or Wilson Airport in Nairobi. For bush-and-beach packages we coordinate between game reserves and coastal resort hotels in Diani, Watamu or Mombasa.

Neutral-coloured layers, a warm jacket for early game drives, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars and a camera with spare batteries. We send a full packing list with your booking confirmation.
